Calcutta Kid is the moniker of multi-instrumentalist Jessmeet "Jessie" Gulati. Hailing from San Diego, a former 10-year member and sonic architect of the Donkeys (Dead Oceans and Easy Sound Records). The Natural Frequency is Calcutta Kids’ debut release, with the exception of Wipe Those Tears Away, primarily a collection of mainly instrumentals.

Formed in 2003 the Donkeys are a San Diego based Rock and Roll band. The original line up consisted of the four multi instrumentalists; Tim DeNardo, Jessie Gulati, Anthony Lukens, and Sam Sprague. As it currently stands the band (Anthony, Tim, and Sam) operates out of Los Angeles California.
