Il CBGB, detto anche CBGB's o CB's, è stato un rock club situato nel Lower East Side di Manhattan all'indirizzo 315 di Bowery street a New York. Il nome completo è CBGB & OMFUG, sigla di Country Blue Grass Blues and Other Music For Uplifting Gourmandizers.
CBGB was a New York City music club opened in 1973 by Hilly Kristal in the East Village in Manhattan, New York City. The club was previously a biker bar and before that was a dive bar. The letters CBGB were for Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Kristal's original vision for the club.

Founded on the Bowery in New York City by Hilly Kristal in 1973; CBGB was originally intended to feature its namesake musical styles, but became a forum for American punk and new wave bands like the Ramones, Blondie, Talking Heads, Misfits, Television, Patti Smith Group, The Dead Boys, The Dictators, The Cramps, and Joan Jett.
