The band was composed of Billy Childish (guitar and vocals), Bruce Brand (drums and backing vocals), and Johnny 'Tub' Johnson (bass). The band is the most prolific of Childish's many musical projects so far, releasing fourteen full-length albums.
THEE HEADCOATS. Thee Headcoats were mainly Billy Childish (Git/Vox) Bruce Brand (Drums) and Johnny Johnson (bass), they formed in 1989 after Billy’s previous band Thee Mighty Caesers gave up the ghost. By 1992 they had already released something like 6 albums and 15 singles one of which was DAMGOOD 1, a split single with Thee Headcoatees.

His career spans roots rockers Mungo Jerry, garage rocker Billy Childish (in Thee Headcoats with him), singer Holly Golightly and guitar god Link Wray among others, all of which he dishes about in the interview below. In the middle of answering questions, Bruce was nice enough to explain why his correspondence was a little erratic:
With Childish and Hampshire sharing guitar and vocal duties, Bruce Brand on drums, and Bertie on bass (later replaced by Russ Wilkins then John Agnew), the Milkshakes’ sound was a primitive blend of British beat groups, like the early Kinks at their toughest, and hard-rocking American guitar instrumentalists like Link Wray.
