Liam O'Flynn, Óg Flynn (Irish: Liam Ó Floinn, 15 September 1945 – 14 March 2018) was an Irish uilleann piper and Irish traditional musician.
Liam O'Flynn (in irlandese Liam Óg Ó Floinn; Kill, 15 aprile 1945 – Dublino, 14 marzo 2018) è stato un musicista irlandese, virtuoso delle uilleann pipes. È uno dei principali esponenti della musica tradizionale irlandese.
14 mar 2018 · Irish music giant Liam O'Flynn, who helped form influential folk band Planxty, has died aged 72. The uilleann piper, who collaborated with Kate Bush and Sinead O'Connor, had been suffering from a long illness. O'Flynn formed Planxty in 1972 along with Christy Moore, Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny, all of which were multi-instrumentalists.
Liam O’Flynn / Ó Floinn (1945–2018), internationally renowned virtuoso uilleann piper and whistle player, was a native of Cill, Co. Kildare. He was long known as Liam Óg, having been named after his fiddle player father Liam, headmaster of Cill national school.
