Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School is New Zealand's national drama school. It was established in 1970 and is located in Wellington, New Zealand in the Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre.
Toi Whakaari has a diversity of cultures, which we greatly value, including an international student community. We welcome applications from students from all over the world. Toi Whakaari currently has students from Canada, the USA, Japan, and Germany.
Toi Whakaari is New Zealand’s largest dedicated training provider for professionals working in the screen and performing arts industries. It was established in 1970 by the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council (now Creative New Zealand) and remains the premier training ground for performing arts professionals in New Zealand.
