Dschinghis Khan (German pronunciation: [ˌdʒɪŋɡɪs ˈkaːn]; "Genghis Khan") is a German Eurodisco pop band. It was originally formed in Munich in 1979 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest with their song "Dschinghis Khan".
Four weeks after their founding, “Dschinghis Khan” won German selection for the Eurovision Song Contest by a huge margin. Two weeks later they were off to Jerusalem. 4th place at the Eurovision Song Contest was their first international breakthrough.

Dschinghis Khan è un gruppo tedesco formato nel 1979 per rappresentare la Germania Ovest all'Eurofestival. Il nome della band è Gengis Khan in lingua tedesca, sebbene nella variante con la "g" seguita da "h". Il loro singolo di debutto è stato l'omonima canzone scritta da Ralph Siegel e dal paroliere Bernd Meinunger.
