Wellington School is a co-educational independent boarding and day school in the English public school tradition for pupils aged 3–18 located in Wellington, Somerset, England. Wellington School. About. Wellington School was founded in 1837 to provide a commercial, mathematical and classical education for boys. It was supported financially by the county authorities from 1902 and acquired its present name in 1913.
Set in a small, safe town of the same name, Wellington School offers its students and families a wealth of opportunities for academic achievement and personal growth. Wellington School’s 35 acre site accommodates day students from age 3-18 and a healthy number of domestic and international boarders from age 11+.
Wellington School has been named the second best school in Somerset and in the top 5% of schools in the country. The recently published Department for Education League tables ranked Wellington student’s progress by comparing their GCSE and A Level results, with these above the national average and in the top 5% nationwide.
