In an effort to begin practicing live, Porter recruited friend Cameron Quiseng (pronounced / ˈ k iː s ɛ ŋ /). At Darmody's suggestion, Quiseng - whom Porter met in middle school - became bassist, while Porter switched to lead vocals.
