Hasan ibn Ali (Arabic: الْحَسَنِ بْن عَلِيّ, romanized: al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī; c. 625 – April 670) was an Alid political and religious leader. The eldest son of Ali and Fatima and a grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, Hasan briefly ruled as caliph from January 661 until August 661.
Primogenito (625 circa - 670) di Fāṭima figlia di Maometto e di ‛Alī, il quarto califfo. Dopo la morte del padre fu proclamato califfo nell'Iraq, ma dietro forte compenso rinunciò al potere in favore di Mu‛āwiya. Da lui discende la linea degli sceriffi hasanidi.

24 ott 2022 · Al-Hassan ibn Ali was the first child of Fatimah, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad and Khadijah. Prophet Muhammad expressed great joy at the birth of his first grandchild and named him Al-Hassan, himself. He grew up to develop a close physical resemblance to his grandfather, Prophet Muhammad.
Imam Hasan (a.s.) lived for seven years with his grandfather, the Messenger of Allah (S). He was appointed to Imamate after his father, Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), at the age thirty seven. His caliphate –after Imam Ali’s (a.s.) martyrdom until his peace with Mu’awiyah– lasted six months and three days.
