Charles Salvatore Panozzo (born September 20, 1948) is an American musician best known as a co-founder of the rock band Styx. He is currently a part-time bass player in the band, sharing bass duties with Ricky Phillips. Panozzo is living with HIV, which played a role in limiting his full-time participation. [2]

Panozzo ha dichiarato nel 1999 di essere malato di AIDS, e che ciò lo avrebbe tenuto temporaneamente lontano dalle scene; tuttavia non ha mai abbandonato il gruppo, e si esibisce occasionalmente dal vivo, sebbene dal 2003 sia affiancato dal bassista Ricky Phillips. Nel 2001 si è apertamente dichiarato omosessuale.

In August 1961, at 12 years of age, twin brothers Chuck (guitar) and John Panozzo (drums) first played music together with their 14-year-old neighbor Dennis DeYoung who played accordion and sang, while living in the Roseland, Chicago area, eventually using the band name The Tradewinds.
