is the fourth studio album and sophomore Spanish album by Kali Uchis. It was officially released worldwide on January 12, 2024, through EMI and Geffen Records.

It became her highest charting album on the US Billboard 200 upon its release, debuting at number two with 69,000 units.

The album is the second of two albums Uchis announced on April 21, 2022, during the Latin American Music Awards of 2022. She revealed to Billboard that she had two albums ready, one in English and one in Spanish. Later the same day, she asked her fans via Twitter which album should release first.

It was originally planned to be released as the "Phase 2" of 2023, being Red Moon In Venus the "Phase 1" as she stated via Twitter on January 5, 2023. However, its release date was pushed back to 2024 due to timing and the Red Moon In Venus Tour Pt. II.

On July 26, 2023, she made a post on Instagram announcing she was ready to share music from the album. That night, she teased a snippet of the lead single "Muñekita" on social media. Through an Instagram story, she talked about the album's sound stating that reggaeton is present but only in a few songs.

On October 6, 2023, Uchis officially gave end to the Red Moon In Venus era through a post on social media, and confirmed an announcement for the next Monday.

On October 8, she posted an Instagram story with the words "Time to wake up". The next day, on October 9, she posted on social media a visual trailer t,hat revealed the album's title and a snippet of a new song later revealed to be the opening track "¿Cómo Así?". On October 11, 2023, she revealed the album's artwork and release date. On October 17, Uchis teased an "announcement for tomorrow". It resulted being the tracklist that was unveiled the next day, on October 18, 2023.

On January 2, 2024, she posted a video on TikTok describing the album as "an experimental latin project with alt, disco, perreo, house, Latin soul, merengue, bolero".

•In an interview with CALI 93.9, Uchis revealed that aimed to feature just two artists on the album.

•One of these two artists is Rauw Alejandro and the other is KAROL G. This indicates that "Muñekita" featuring El Alfa and JT and "Igual que un Ángel" featuring Peso Pluma were made later, in mid-2023.

•The stand-alone single "NO HAY LEY" was believed to be the lead single from the album when it was released in September 2022. However, Uchis denied it on September 6, 2022, during an Instagram live.

•Despite this, she wanted to find an album for the song and it was that desire that led her to collaborate with Rauw for the remix "No Hay Ley Parte 2".

•ORQUÍDEAS marks the first time where Uchis performed live songs that made the cut to an album.

•Before its release, she performed multiple times a preview of both "Labios Mordidos" and "Muñekita", "No Hay Ley Parte 2", "Te Mata" and close to the album's announcement day "Dame Beso // Muévete".

received widespread acclaim by critics upon its release. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 87, based on 13 reviews, indicating universal acclaim.

Reviewing the album for AllMusic, Thom Jurek concluded that "Uchis remains true to herself by restlessly expanding her music's stylistic reach, embracing the past as instructor to the present. It is as aesthetically appealing as it is musically adventurous. In their review for the album, Harpsichord Zine commended the body of work for being a well-executed companion piece to Red Moon In Venus, noting that the translation of the album's title added "to the botanical motifs exhibited in [her] discography." The review also noted how, "Young Rich & In Love" parlays off "Fantasy" from Red Moon In Venus, and cites how Uchis "models after her muse," then-boyfriend, Don Toliver.

Upon its release, the album became Uchis' most successful album on the US Billboard 200 chart, debuting at number two with 69,000 album units.

She scored her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart (dated Jan. 27), as ORQUÍDEAS arrives atop the list with her biggest sales week ever – 31,000 copies sold in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 18, according to Luminate. Of that sum, vinyl sales accounted for 20,000 – marking the largest week for a Spanish-language album on vinyl since Luminate began tracking sales in 1991. The effort also launches at No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums ranking, No. 1 on Top Latin Albums (her first leader there) and starts at a career-high No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The album's lead single "Muñekita", with Dominican rapper El Alfa and American rapper JT from the duo City Girls, was released on August 4, 2023. On October 16, 2023, she announced the album's second single "Te Mata", which was released on October 20, 2023, alongside a music video. The third single "Labios Mordidos", with Colombian singer KAROL G, was released on November 24, 2023, alongside a music video.

Hours prior the album's release, on January 11, Uchis announced her pregnancy with her partner Don Toliver, and released the double music video "Tu Corazón es Mío... / Diosa". The fourth single "Igual que un Ángel" featuring Peso Pluma received a music video on January 17, and was released on the Italian radio on February 1, 2024.

Uchis announced the tracklist for the album on October 18, 2023. For that, she bared her digitally tattooed back with cursive letters listing each song title and was photographed by COUGHS. The same day, she posted more photos with the tattoo while she was at a party. On Instagram stories she shared a screenshot that revealed the shoot date of the tracklist; May 3, 2023. Additionally, Uchis collaborated once again with Spotify to promote the album by revealing on the streets of Los Angeles the tracklist and featured artists.

•"🅴" ‎ indicates the song is explicit.

The artwork for the album and its variants were revealed on October 11, 2023, through social media. The photoshoot, done by Daniel Sannwald, sees a nude Uchis with her body pressed against a glass wall, her breasts covered by two orchids as she’s surrounded by bits of gold, spread-out flowers, and a fuscia-colored liquid that gives the illusion that the singer is floating underwater.

As she did with the sound on the album, Uchis honored her roots by naming the album ORQUÍDEAS after the national flower of Colombia, the cattleya trianae orchid. Sannwald incorporated the flower, known for its pastel lavender petals and yellow lip, in most of the images he shot. There are also small flakes of gold floating around Uchis’ left arm, which Sannwald believes are an "important element in her culture."

Along with the standard artwork on the plexiglass, there are two alternate covers that tapping artist and designer Mat Maitland worked on. Both see Uchis in what Maitland describes as an “undiluted, sumptuous world of the orchid”. In one, Uchis is seen suspended in mid-air while floating on the flower as if it were a cloud. While building the collages, Maitland says he took inspiration from Prince’s 1987 Lovesexy artwork, which sees Princes sitting nude atop some lilies with similar pastels.

There’s also a gatefold image in the LP packaging where Uchis lies in dirt wrapped in golden rope, her breasts covered by flowers. Behind her, a larger-than-life orchid resembles a vulva. Maitland says there are “birth or sexual elements” as touchpoints that don’t “force the viewer to think one thing or the other, but hints” at them.
