Creepy short film in a DISCUSSION PROBLEMS IN GROUP LIVING series from 1959 directed by the man that brought us CARNIVAL OF SOULS. A sociopath at high school tries to get others to like him by gossiping and maligning others. The actor (as the liar) is quite repellant.

This strange 'educational' film, produced by textbook company McGraw Hill, doesn't preach, but was clearly intended to provoke thought amongst its adolescent target audience, and it concludes with a giant question mark.
The Troublemaker scratches the niggling itch that is lurking in many of our brains about the extinction of planetary systems that seems to be going on all around us, and the dawning realization that something has to be done. It was filmed and edited at a time when, for most of us, ‘global crisis’ was an abstract concept. Now we know better.
