Antioch College is a private liberal arts college in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Founded in 1850 by the Christian Connection, the college began operating in 1852 as a non-sectarian institution; politician and education reformer Horace Mann was its first president. The college has been politically liberal and reformist since its inception.
Antioch is A College of Action. Antioch prepares students to live lives of intention. Students have agency to design their education, to own that education, to govern their college, to collaborate with their faculty, and extend their classroom learning into the real world.
General Education: The Antioch experience includes a signature series of unique courses, including Antioch Commons, Dialogue across Difference, the Antioch Seminar, Coop Prep, Design your own Degree, Senior Reflection Paper, and a Capstone in your primary disciplinary division.
