Windward School is an independent school in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It was founded by writer/teacher Shirley Windward in 1971. The school currently enrolls 625 students in grades 7 through 12.

The Windward School is a co-ed, independent day school located in New York City and White Plains, New York, for children in grades 1-9 with language-based learning disabilities like dyslexia. Windward's mission is to remediate students' dyslexia or other language-based learning disabilities and to return students to mainstream schools.
