Eleanor Clifford, Countess of Cumberland, also known as Elyanore Clifford (née Lady Eleanor Brandon; b. 1519 – d. 27 September 1547) was the third child and second daughter of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk and Princess Mary Tudor, the Dowager Queen consort of France.
Lady Eleanor Brandon (1519 – 27 September 1547), who married Henry Clifford, 2nd Earl of Cumberland. Henry Brandon, 1st Earl of Lincoln (c. 1523 – March 1534). Mary and Charles raised their children at their home at Westhorpe Hall. Their two sons, both named Henry, are commonly mistaken for being the same son.

20 feb 2018 · Eleanor died on 27 September 1547 at the age of twenty-eight. Nicola Tallis has suggested that Eleanor may have died of pancreatic cancer; her surviving letter to Clifford alluded to her red ‘water’ and ‘pains in my side’, which she attributed to ‘the jaundice and the ague both’.

Eleanor married Henry Clifford, the eldest son and heir of Henry Clifford, 1st Earl of Cumberland and Lady Margaret Percy at Brandon house, Bridewell, in 1537, her uncle King Henry VIII attended the wedding.
