  1. Lawrence Aldred Mervyn Dundas, 3rd Marquess of Zetland (12 November 1908 – 5 October 1989), was a British hereditary peer, known before 1961 as the Earl of Ronaldshay. He was also a lawn tennis player of some note in the 1940s.

Zetland is an archaic form of Shetland. The Dundas family descends from the wealthy Scottish businessman and Member of Parliament, Lawrence Dundas.

  4. Sir Lawrence Dundas, 1st baronet (d. 1781), a younger son of Thomas Dundas of Fingask (Perthshire) was Commissary-General and contractor to the army, 1748-59, and made extensive purchases of land.

  5. Lawrence John Lumley Dundas, second Marquess of Zetland, was an administrator in India, politician, and author. Zetland was educated at Harrow School and at Trinity College, Cambridge. In 1900, he became aide-de camp to Lord Curzon, who was viceroy of India at the time.

  6. His nephew Lawrence Dundas (1844-1929) became the 3rd Earl of Zetland and subsequently, the 1st Marquess of Zetland. He married Lady Lilian Lumley, daughter of the 9th Earl of Scarbrough. He was promoted to the marquesate in 1892 following his term of office as Lord Lieutenant of Ireland between 1889-1892.
