Quintet for a Day is the result of collective improvisations deeply informed by their vast experience with new compositional approaches which often require improvisers to relate to each other and the flow of what's happening in all kinds of different ways.
He follows in a distinguished line of tenor players who’ve come through Douglas-led bands, including Chris Potter, Donny McCaslin, Marcus Strickland and Jon Irabagon, not to mention the great Joe Lovano in the co-led Sound Prints quintet.
