Bristol Grammar School (BGS) is a 4–18 mixed, private day school in Bristol, England. It was founded in 1532 by Royal Charter for the teaching of 'good manners and literature', endowed by wealthy Bristol merchants Robert and Nicholas Thorne who made their money through the work and trade of enslaved Africans. Bristol Grammar School is a very special place. From the early years of Reception, right through to the Sixth Form, our pupils are encouraged to get involved and to make the most of the many opportunities available to them, inside the classroom and out.
The School charges an annual fee but, for convenience, one third of this is payable by the first day of each term. Payment can be made by direct transfer or termly direct debit. Some parents and guardians prefer to make monthly payments and we offer this facility through the School Fee Plan.
