In the summer of 1977, he collaborated with Pierre Moerlen's Gong for the album Expresso II, released in 1978. Taylor began writing new songs and recruiting musicians for a solo album and worked on projects with Miller Anderson, Alan Merrill and others.
Expresso II is the eighth studio album released under the name Gong and the de facto second album by Pierre Moerlen's Gong. It released in February 1978.

Anyway, this is a fusion/jazz album with it's main focus on rhythms and xylophones. There is no keyboards here at all. But Darryl Way does an excellent job on violin and the same does Mr Holdsworth on guitar. Mick Taylor also does a great job on solo guitars.
