24 giu 2015 · Midnight Mission was The Textones’ first full-length album, originally released in 1984, at the height of fun ‘80s pop. And this band does have a bit of that glorious pop sound for sure, but has so much more going on, deliciously mixing genres like pop, rock, blues and country.

28 giu 2015 · The Textones’ Midnight Mission. Midnight Mission opens with the overtly political “Standing In The Line.” A cheeky commentary on the materialistic pursuits of the Reagan era, Olson’s trebly, passionate vocals soar above the musical din.
Biography. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Olson moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1978 where she formed the Textones, whose debut album Midnight Mission entered the Billboard 200. [3] Carla is multilingual. She served as a French translator for Malian legend Ali Farka Toure.
