Reeves' claim to fame was playing Superman on television during the 50s. It was on the air from 1952 to 1958 and was very popular with the youth of that era. A movie entitled Hollywoodland chronicled the life story of George and his questionable death. Reeves died on June 16th, 1959 in Beverly Hills, CA. His death was eventually ruled a suicide.
