Clive Francis (born 26 June 1946) is a British stage, television and film actor. Early life. Francis was born in Eastbourne, Sussex. He is the son of actors Raymond Francis and his second wife Margaret Towner. [1] His father played Detective Chief Superintendent Tom Lockhart in the 1960s series No Hiding Place.

Clive Francis’ television career has been long and varied ranging from the classics to sitcoms, dramas serials to any number of television films. It began in 1966, the year he left drama school, playing Tommy Traddles opposite Ian McKellen and Flora Robson in David Copperfield televised from the old Lime Grove Studios in Shepherd’s Bush.
Clive Francis's varied stage and screen career includes A Clockwork Orange, Entertaining Mr Sloane, the original Poldark and upcoming Netflix drama The Crown. He's currently starring in Stephen Daldry's lauded revival of An Inspector Calls at Playhouse Theatre, which begins previews on 4 November.
