Michael Bentine, CBE (born Michael James Bentin; 26 January 1922 – 26 November 1996) was a British comedian, comic actor and founding member of the Goons. His father was a Peruvian Briton.

Michael Bentine, CBE (1922-1996) Descended from a prominent Peruvian family and Eton-educated, Michael had originally intended to become an engineer and scientist. Then World War II intervened, and Bentine spent it serving as an officer in the RAF operations section of British Intelligence.
