William Andrew Jones (February 18, 1907 – March 5, 1974), better known as Billy De Wolfe, was an American character actor. He was active in films from the mid-1940s until his death in 1974. De Wolfe's closeted homosexuality has been discussed by John Gielgud,[6] author David Kaufman,[7] and The Advocate.[8]
Long-time friend of Doris Day. Although versatile in musical comedy, he is perhaps best remembered for his portrayal of Willard Jarvis, Doris Martin's neighbor on The Doris Day Show (1968). Interred in his family's plot marked William A. Jones AKA Billy De Wolfe at the Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy MA.
