Kim van Kooten (born 26 January 1974 in Purmerend, North Holland) is a Dutch actress and screenwriter. In international cinema, she is best known for the 2003 Dutch/US co-production Phileine Says Sorry, filmed partly in New York City, in which she plays the lead.
Kim van Kooten. Actress: Phileine Says Sorry. She studied script-writing at the Filmacademie in Amsterdam, but stopped after 2 years because she started working for VPRO-radio and made a radio aftprogram called 5, 5 6. She stopped making radio because she was asked to act in Little Sister (1995).

Kim van Kooten was born in Amsterdam. She made her debut in the film _Little Sister (1995)_. For her part she got a Best Actress nomination at the Dutch Filmfestival. It was her breakthrough as an actress. One year later, she made her debut as a screenwriter.
