Born in Brixlegg, Tyrol, Eberharter was the winner of the overall World Cup title in 2002 and 2003, as well as the season titles in downhill and super-G. He was the nearest rival of compatriot Hermann Maier in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

31 ago 2018 · Stefan Eberharter (born March 24th, 1969 in Stumm, Austria) is considered one of the greatest Austrian skiers of all-time. A member of the Wunderteam he was encouraged to ski from a very early age by his father and two brothers and participated in his first competition at the age of six.
Stephan Eberharter made his World Cup debut at the age of 20. The then 21-year-old made his big breakthrough at the 1991 World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm where he triumphed in Super-G and in the combination and became double world champion.
