John Boyd Dunlop (Dreghorn, 5 febbraio 1840 – Dublino, 23 ottobre 1921) è stato un inventore e chirurgo britannico, fondatore della omonima società produttrice degli pneumatici Dunlop Pneumatic Tyre Company.
John Boyd Dunlop (5 February 1840 – 23 October 1921) was a Scottish inventor and veterinary surgeon who spent most of his career in Ireland. Familiar with making rubber devices, he invented the first practical pneumatic tyres for his child's tricycle and developed them for use in cycle racing.

John Boyd Dunlop (born Feb. 5, 1840, Dreghorn, Ayrshire, Scot.—died Oct. 23, 1921, Dublin) was an inventor who developed the pneumatic rubber tire. In 1867 he settled in Belfast as a veterinary surgeon. In 1887 he constructed there a pneumatic tire for his son’s tricycle.
