Alan John Jamieson OBE is a Scottish marine biologist, engineer, explorer and author, best known for his deep-sea exploration and study of life at the deepest places in the oceans.
Alan Jamieson is Professor at The Oceans Institute and the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Western Australia and the founding Director of the Minderoo UWA Deep Sea Research Centre. He has over 20 years of experience in deep-sea science, technology and exploration.
Dr Alan Jamieson is a senior lecturer in deep-sea biology at Newcastle University, UK. He is the Chief Scientist on The Five Deeps Expedition. His research has made him a world leader in the biological exploration of the hadal zone (depths exceeding 6000 metres).

14 feb 2024 · Our CEO Professor Alan Jamieson has been awarded an OBE for his services to Marine Biology, Subsea Engineering and Exploration. Alan was awarded the Order of The British Empire in the New Year Honours List 2023.
