Niels Wilhelm Gade (Copenaghen, 22 febbraio 1817 – Copenaghen, 21 dicembre 1890) è stato un compositore, direttore d'orchestra, organista e violinista danese. Fu la figura di spicco della musica danese del XIX secolo .
Niels Wilhelm Gade (22 February 1817 – 21 December 1890) was a Danish composer, conductor, violinist, organist and teacher. Together with Johan Peter Emilius Hartmann , he was the leading Danish musician of his day, in the period known as the Danish Golden Age .
GADE, Niels Wilhelm. Compositore, nato il 22 febbraio 1817 a Copenaghen, dove morì il 21 dicembre 1890. Studiò violino e pianoforte e poi composizione con Weyse e Berggreen. Si rese noto con l'ouverture Nachklänge vom Ossian (op. 1), premiata nel 1841 in un concorso.
Niels Gade (born February 22, 1817, Copenhagen, Denmark—died December 21, 1890, Copenhagen) was a Danish composer who founded the Romantic nationalist school in Danish music. Gade studied violin and composition and became acquainted with Danish poetry and folk music.

Già noto per una ouverture, premiata nel 1841, e per una sinfonia, diretta l'anno seguente da F.
