Johannes Brahms (German: [joˈhanəs ˈbʁaːms]; 7 May 1833 – 3 April 1897) was a German composer, virtuoso pianist, and conductor of the mid-Romantic period. Esteemed as one of the "Three Bs" of music (alongside Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven), his music is a staple of the concert repertoire.
Considerato da molti quale successore di Beethoven, tanto che la sua Prima sinfonia fu descritta da Hans von Bülow (1830-1894, direttore d'orchestra, pianista e compositore tedesco) come la Decima sinfonia di Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms nasce ad Amburgo il giorno 7 maggio 1833.
