John Anthony Dyson, Lord Dyson, PC (born 31 July 1943) is a former British judge and barrister. He was Master of the Rolls and Head of Civil Justice, the second most senior judge in England and Wales, from 2012 to 2016, and a Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2012.

Following the announcement last week of Sir John Dyson as the twelfth Justice of the Supreme Court, we now take a look at Sir John’s career. As we reported here, Sir John is the second Justice to be appointed directly to the Supreme Court and his appointment will take effect from 13 April 2010.
He is now appointed as an arbitrator, mediator, chair of inquiries and legal expert. Lord Dyson has been appointed both as presider and co-arbitrator under a variety of rules, including ICC, LCIA, DIAC, UNCITRAL and ad-hoc across the spectrum of international commercial and construction disputes.
