A space traveler from the Earth of the 22th century – without wars, poverty and oppression – crashes on an unknown planet. Politically and economically that planet similar to the totalitarian human states of the 20th century.
Dark Planet (Russian: Обитаемый остров, romanized: Obitaemyy ostrov, lit. 'The Inhabited Island') is a two-part Russian science fiction film directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk.
Dark Planet: Rebellion. Maxim Kammerer fights for his love and freedom. He leads a rebel movement challenging the five greedy rulers. One of the rulers, Strannik, knows how dangerous Maxim can be. He makes up his mind to stop the young man at any cost.
23 apr 2009 · The film is a production of Art Pictures Studio, Non-Stop Production and STS channel, with special effects by EyeScream Studio, Main Road Post and Quantum Creation FX. The production was filmed in Crimea, Ukraine, with photography lasting for 10 months (14 February – 7 December 2007).
