The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc (French: Jeanne d'Arc) is a 1999 English-language French epic historical drama film directed by Luc Besson and starring Milla Jovovich, John Malkovich, Faye Dunaway and Dustin Hoffman.
Synopsis. La jeune Jeanne d'Arc est une enfant pieuse, dévote, aimée et heureuse dans le petit village de Domrémy du duché de Lorraine jusqu'à ce qu'un détachement de soldats anglais pille, massacre et brûle le village et les villageois. La sœur adorée de Jeanne la cache dans un placard et lui fait un rempart de son corps.
Trama. Nel villaggio di Domrémy, la tredicenne Giovanna d'Arco ha strane visioni e sente una voce che le impone di salvare la Francia e aiutare Carlo VII. Decide dunque di recarsi al cospetto dell'erede al trono. Il suo arrivo e la sua pretesa di parlare a nome di Dio suscitano lo scalpore.
