At the end of World War II, demobilized soldiers Ted Peters (Sir Richard Attenborough) and Dave Robinson (Bill Owen) return home to Britain, where Ted becomes a taxi driver and Dave gets involved with the mob.
Story. When his best friend is murdered inside a London dancehall, a cab driver and his girlfriend involve themselves in the investigation and discover a major criminal operation hiding behind the club's friendly facade.
Dancing with Crime is a nifty little thriller striking a good balance between plot, character, and mood. Taxi driver Ted Peters (Richard Attenborough) finds his pal (an unrecognizable Bill Owen) dead in his cab and begins investigating the murder along with his girlfriend, Joy Goodall (Sheila Sim).
In Dancing With Crime (1947), Richard Attenborough and Sheila Sim, married in real life at the time, put themselves in harms way when they go undercover to investigate the murder of a friend with ties to black market racketeers. Watch for Dirk Bogarde and Diana Dors in uncredited roles.
