A light first half, an enjoyable second, and a ludicrously attractive leading couple makes Her Bridal Night (aka The Bride is Much Too Beautiful, aka La Mariée est Trop Belle) a simple pleasure. Whilst not a hard comedy, and in possession of a neat-as-a-bow ending, one would find it difficult to leave Pierre Gaspard-Huit’s film feeling morose.
