Woman in the Moon (German Frau im Mond) is a German science fiction silent film that premiered 15 October 1929 at the UFA-Palast am Zoo cinema in Berlin to an audience of 2,000. It is often considered to be one of the first "serious" science fiction films.

A tenacious scientist blasts off for the moon in hopes of riches that may be found there. Thirty years ago, at a scientific conference, Prof. Manfeldt presented his theory on the existence of gold on the Moon.
Fritz Lang´s final silent film “Woman in the Moon” is another visionary sci fi epic that was far ahead of its time. To be exact, the film follows a space journey to the moon 40 years before the real-life moon landing.
