Die Screaming, Marianne is a 1971 British thriller film produced and directed by Pete Walker and starring Susan George and Barry Evans. Although Walker's films are mostly in the horror or sexploitation genres, this is a straight thriller, with mild horror undertones.

27 lug 2018 · After a successful stint in the sexploitation genre, Pete Walker made his first foray into the horror realm with 1971’s Die Screaming, Marianne. Classifying it as a horror film is a stretch, but it’s at least a step in the genre’s direction.

After the untimely death of her mother, the one daughter stands to inherit a large sum of money and also a number of documents containing information that will incriminate her father, who was a crooked judge.
Marianne (Susan George), a go-go dancer on the run, hunted by her father, and hated by her half sister. Pete Walker paints a picture that comes off as a contemporary 70’s British gothic tale gone mad.
