Rodrigo Díaz de Bivar, o de Vivar (Vivar del Cid, 1040 o 1043 – Valencia, 10 luglio 1099), è stato un condottiero e cavaliere medievale spagnolo, meglio conosciuto come El Cid Campeador o Mio Cid (dall'arabo volgare سيدﻱ sīdī, "mio signore"; Campeador invece è la forma spagnola del cognome latino Campi Doctor che significa "campione", vincitore nel combattimento giudiziario o duello).
El Cid is a 1961 epic historical drama film directed by Anthony Mann and produced by Samuel Bronston. The film is loosely based on the life of the 11th-century Castilian warlord Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, called "El Cid" (from the Arabic al-sidi, meaning "The Lord").
