Local food and wine correspondent Frank McClusky falls in love with waitress Cissie Crouch. Unfortunately for him, she’s the wife of a convict, who is serving time for a crime he didn’t commit. As Frank’s life becomes more embroiled with Cissie’s he goes on a mission to track down the guilty men.

"Your Cheatin' Heart" is a song written and recorded by country music singer-songwriter Hank Williams in 1952. It is regarded as one of country's most important standards. Williams was inspired to write the song while driving with his fiancée from Nashville, Tennessee, to Shreveport, Louisiana.
Born poor in a rural southern town, Hank Williams Sr. (George Hamilton) begins playing guitar at a young age and eventually joins a traveling medicine show.

With the assistance of Audrey (Susan Oliver), his determined wife, Shorty Younger (Red Buttons), his boss, and Fred Rose (Arthur O’Connell), a music publisher, Hank gains a passionate fan base and becomes a country music star. However, it isn’t long before the difficulties of success become too much for Hank to bear.
