Yearning (乱れる, Midareru, lit. "Confused") is a 1964 Japanese drama film directed by Mikio Naruse and starring Hideko Takamine and Yūzō Kayama. The story centers on a war widow whose deceased husband's family plans to drive her out of the shop which she runs in the family's house.
Trama. Nel Giappone del dopoguerra, i piccoli negozi di quartiere subiscono la spietata concorrenza dei supermercati. Il giovane Koji Morita, sfaccendato rampollo di una famiglia di bottegai, s'innamora della cognata Rieko (vedova del fratello), che gestisce il negozio con l'aiuto di un garzone.
