The story follows an abandoned yet defiant girl, Kya, who raises herself to adulthood in a North Carolina marshland, becoming a naturalist in the process. When the town's hotshot is found dead, she is the prime suspect and is tried for murder.
Plot. Janeen, a young girl living in Georgia's Okefenokee Swamp near the small city of Waycross, helps park ranger Jim when his foot is caught in a poachers' trap and learns to trust him. Her home is a swamp cabin which she shares with a middle-aged African American whom she calls Pa.
With Ferlin Husky, Claude King, Steve Drexel, Lonnie Bower. Abandoned by her mother, teenage girl Janeen lives deep in the Okefenokee swamp. When an escaped female convict and her boyfriend try to flee through the swamps, it leads to a deadly duel for survival between Janeen and the criminals.
