  4. American jazz pianist. Born in September 1905 (on September 3rd, 4th, or 13th, according to various sources) in Louisville, Kentucky. Lewis was hit and killed by a drunk driver after a performance on June 7, 1964. A 1927 rendition of “Honky Tonky Train Blues” on the Paramount Records label was his recording debut.
