Jason Curtis Newsted (Battle Creek, 4 marzo 1963) è un bassista e cantante statunitense. Ha raggiunto la notorietà al termine degli anni ottanta, quando è divenuto il bassista del gruppo musicale heavy metal Metallica, con i quali ha inciso quattro album in studio, tra cui l'omonimo Metallica del 1991.

Jason Curtis Newsted (born March 4, 1963) is an American musician, best known as the bassist of heavy metal band Metallica from 1986 to 2001. He performed with thrash metal band Flotsam and Jetsam for the first five years of his career before joining Metallica in October 1986 to succeed Cliff Burton , who died the month prior.
4 mar 2021 · Jason Curtis Newsted è nato a Battle Creek (USA). È entrato a far parte dei Flotsam And Jetsam nel 1981, registrando con loro il debut ‘Doomsday For The Deceiver’ nel 1986 prima di unirsi ai Metallica, che lo vollero come sostituto del compianto Cliff Burton.
