20 mar 2018 · Eva was born in September 16, 1875 in the stone house built by her father Patrick Mylott in 1870 on Tuross Head. Discovering his daughters rich contralto voice at an early age, Mylott leased his farm in 1883 and invested in a Sydney wholesale liquor firm.

27 mar 2020 · Intense grief prevailed when the news came through that Mrs Hutton Gibson (Miss Eva Mylott) had died on the previous Saturday at her home in N.Y., America, aged 40 years. It is hard to realise that this charming and loveable woman will no more be seen on this terrestrial sphere.
On 16 September 1875 Eva Mylott was born on a large estate at Tuross Head; one of Australia’s most beautiful headlandsi. Her Irish parents, Patrick and Mary Mylott (nee Heffernan) married when Patrick was the managing overseer of the Bodalla Estate. They had nine children.
Eva, who was born at Tuross, became an internationally renowned opera singer, and a plaque in her honor is located in Eva Mylott Park on Jutland Ave. Hector McWilliam established Tuross Head as a tourist destination in the mid-1920s.
