Varahagiri Venkata Giri (pronunciation ⓘ; 10 August 1894 – 24 June 1980) was an Indian politician and activist who served as the fourth president of India from 24 August 1969 to 24 August 1974. He also served as the third vice president of India from 13 May 1967 to 3 May 1969.
Varahagiri Venkata Giri (born Aug. 10, 1894, Berhampore [now Brahmapur], India—died June 24, 1980, Madras [now Chennai]) was a statesman, who served as the president of India from 1969 to 1974. Giri began his education at Khallikote College, Berhampore, and then went to Dublin to study law.
