Charles Evelyn Baring, 2nd Baron Howick of Glendale (born 30 December 1937), is a member of the Baring family and the son of Evelyn Baring, 1st Baron Howick of Glendale. He is well known as an arboriculturalist and plant collector.
30 apr 2019 · In 1963, his wife inherited the Howick Hall estate from her father. Lord Howick was made a Knight of the Garter in 1972, but died from injuries received while rock climbing in 1973. The estate then passed to his son and heir, Charles Evelyn Baring (b. 1937), 2nd Baron Howick of Glendale.

He is well known as an arboriculturalist and plant collector. He is the creator of the Howick Arboretum at Howick Hall, one of the largest collections of wild origin plants in the United Kingdom.
KCMG 1942, KCVO 1947, GCMG 1955, KG 1972, created Baron Howick of Glendale 1960. Entered the Indian Civil Service 1926-1934, serving at Lucknow and Meerut 1926-1929, as secretary to the agent of the government of India at Durban 1929-1932, and then in the North-West Frontier district of India.
