Burkhard Jung (born 7 March 1958 in Siegen) is a German politician [1] of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been the 21st lord mayor (Oberbürgermeister) of Leipzig since March 29, 2006.
Burkhard Jung ist ein deutscher Politiker. Er ist seit März 2006 der Oberbürgermeister von Leipzig. Er war von 2019 bis 2021 Präsident des Deutschen Städtetags und ist seit 2021 dessen Vizepräsident. Seit dem 15. Juni 2023 ist Jung gewählter Präsident des europäischen Städtenetzwerkes eurocities.
