Pat Morris Neff (November 26, 1871 – January 20, 1952) was an American politician, educator and administrator, and the 28th Governor of Texas from 1921 to 1925, ninth President of Baylor University from 1932 to 1947, and twenty-fifth president of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1944 to 1946.

Neff waged an energetic campaign, covering 6,000 miles in his car and touring thirty-seven counties never before visited by a candidate for governor.
In 1925, he was pardoned and released after writing a song to Texas Governor Pat Morris Neff seeking his freedom, having served the minimum seven years of a 7-to-35-year sentence. He was credited with good behavior, which included entertaining the guards and fellow prisoners.
Pat Morris Neff (1871-1952), governor of Texas and president of Baylor University, was born in Coryell County, Texas, on November 26, 1871, the son of Noah and Isabella (Shepherd) Neff. He attended McGregor High School in neighboring McLennan County and earned an A.B. degree at Baylor University, Waco, in 1894.

25 ott 2018 · Governor Pat Morris Neff. Pat Neff was the son of Noah and Isabella Eleanor Shepherd Neff. Noah was the descendant of German immigrants to the United States. Noah came to Texas in 1849, but returned home to Virginia several years later to marry Isabella.
