Daniel Fletcher Webster (July 25, 1813 – August 30, 1862) was an American diplomat and Union Army officer. He was the son of Daniel Webster, the 14th and 19th U.S. Secretary of State.
Grace (Fletcher) Webster (1781–1828) was the first wife of Daniel Webster. She was with him as he started his law career in Portsmouth, New Hampshire , and then sought to improve their lives by settling in Boston on Beacon Hill .

12 feb 2024 · Colonel Fletcher Webster fell mortally wounded near here, leading his regiment in support of the canon of Chinn Ridge. The colonel, son of the famous orator and statesman Daniel Webster, commanded the 12th Massachusetts Infantry- a regiment he organized at the outbreak of war in 1861.
The foundation of Benjamin Chinn's wartime home can still be seen and a trail along the top of the ridge provides access to the stone marking the spot where Colonel Fletcher Webster of the 12th Massachusetts was mortally wounded on the afternoon of August 30.
The monument to Colonel Fletcher Webster is on the Second Bull Run battlefield along the Chinn Ridge trail at the location where he was mortally wounded. The Chinn Ridge trailhead is at Stop 10 on the Manassas Battlefield Driving Tour.
Webster Monument. About 600 yards north of the Chinn House stands a granite boulder with bronze plaque marking the spot where Col. Fletcher Webster, son of the statesman, Daniel Webster, fell mortally wounded in the second battle, August 30, 1862.
