Husband Edward Kimmel (February 26, 1882 – May 14, 1968) was a United States Navy four-star admiral who was the commander in chief of the United States Pacific Fleet (CINCPACFLT) during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

18 mar 2017 · On the morning of the Pearl Harbor attack, just after the first explosion rocked the coast of Oahu and smoke billowed from the USS Arizona, Admiral Husband E. Kimmel watched through the window of his office at a submarine base near the harbor. Like everyone, he was stunned with disbelief.
On Saturday, 6 December 1941, Admiral Husband E. Kimmel granted a rare interview to Joseph C. Harsch of the Christian Science Monitor. Harsch asked whether Kimmel believed the Japanese would attack the United States. “No, young man. I don’t think they’d be such damned fools.”
Husband E. Kimmel. Rear Admiral Kimmel graduated from the Naval Academy in 1904. He was promoted, through the grades to Admiral and retired in 1942 after 42 years of service, 20 of which were spent at sea.
